The options have always been a bit limited when it comes to creative in advertising on Amazon, generally displaying just the product listing, or your brand logo...
We're happy to say that you can now drive more engagement though your sponsored brand ads by using custom imagery!
✏️ Just like in Amazon's example above, the key criteria is to demonstrate the product in use
✏️ Include subjects that identify with your target audience (even if not directly - the image above is clearly geared towards parents or carers, not kids)
✏️ Make it pretty: ensure your subject is in attractive surroundings and your lighting is on point
Amazon state you could see a 2.2x higher click-through rate from an effective custom image!
There are still some restrictions though:
🛑 No graphics or text can be used on the image
🛑 You can't simply display the product in the image, it needs to be in use or in application
🛑 Amazon have a specific team in place to review and approve custom images
If you're advertising on Amazon, get into Campaign Manager and set up a new campaign using custom imagery. Remember you should also be advertising with video if you're approved to do so!
