5 Fun Marketing Facts

5 Fun Marketing Facts

September 01, 2022β€’2 min read

We've collected a few interesting facts over the past few weeks that we just had to collate and share.

Hopefully you find them as useful as we do!

πŸ”40% of Gen Z use TikTok and Instagram to answer a question rather than Google!

Our thoughts: Make sure you're using your social channels to identify and answer these questions in your feed, reels and stories. Engage with your audience to proactively, continually, provide value.

πŸ“Ή YouTube is the world's second most popular search engine (You can probably guess the first!)

Our thoughts: Just like your social channels, make sure your YouTube channel contains videos that educate and entertain. People head to YouTube for those reasons. PLUS if you can get your videos to rank highly on YouTube, they'll also rank highly on Google.

πŸ–ΌοΈ People still hate to love popups - 10% of customers will engage with a popup that contains an offer.

Our thoughts: It might feel cringe or like you’re going to be annoying your visitors, but the fact is popups WORK. Just make sure you set it to wait a while before popping up on your site. Let them browse a little first. 30-60 seconds works well if you have an engaging page.

πŸ€‘ Want to run a cheap LinkedIn 'InMail' Campaign? Use Sales Navigator and send 50 InMails a month to 'non-contacts'

Our thoughts: Being able to cold-contact up to 50 potential high-value customers for Β£67 per month  is a steal in our view. As long as you've got a compelling offer and a well-crafted message, you could get a cracking ROI.

πŸ‘οΈ People read in 'F's! Users generally read the headline of a web page, scan the words on the left side of the first paragraph, read a full line a little further down the page, then continue to scan the words on the left side of each paragraph. (an 'F' shape, get it? πŸ˜‰)

Our thoughts: This apples to mobile and desktop and really makes you think where you're going to put your keywords. Your headline should be always clear on your topic, but consider those words on the left side of paragraphs too! And what about that full line scan further down?

When you've created a page, scan it this way yourself to see if those keywords are easy to spot. As soon as a user spots what they're looking for, then they'll read properly. If they don't, they bounce off to somewhere else, hurting your reputation with both them and the search engines.
